Fornax is a constellation in the southern sky. Its Latin name means the furnace. Ancient astronomers named it for its warmth and its steady light in the night sky.
That image — a source of warmth and clarity — shaped everything about how this property was conceived and built.
The answer was not complicated. It meant real finishes. It meant self-contained space that respected the need for privacy and routine. It meant equipping every apartment so that whether you stayed for three nights or three months, you could live normally.
Area 49 was chosen deliberately. Quiet enough to work. Close enough to move. Far enough from the noise.

Hotels are designed around transience. Guesthouses are often designed around cost. Fornax was designed around the guest. Three apartments. One compound. Each apartment self-contained, independently functional, and finished with enough intention that the word “amenity” starts to feel too small for what is actually there.
There is no reception desk, no breakfast buffet, no lobby. What there is: your own kitchen with marble countertops and a built-in oven, a living room with velvet sofas and a soundbar, an ergonomic workspace, en-suite bathrooms in every bedroom, and a washer-dryer in the unit. Backup power and water so that Malawi’s infrastructure does not become your problem.
